Mario Vargas Llosa is a Peruvian writer. He borns in Arequipa on March 28,
1936.
His literary works are recognized and award-winning.
His first published book was a collection of short stories entitled "Los Jefes" and his last publication was "Hard times" of the Nobel Prize for Literature Mario Vargas Llosa.
As a writer, he rose to fame
in the 1960s with such novels as "The City and the Dogs" (1962),
"The Green House" (1965) and "Conversation at the
Cathedral" (1969).
His parents are Ernesto Vargas Maldonado (Lima, 1905-1979) and Dora Llosa
Ureta (Arequipa, 1914 -1995). He was the only son.
A soccer fan, Vargas Llosa is an expert in this sport's statistics.
